As my grandparents entered their 90’s, I had this overwhelming urge to sit down with them. And just listen.

They’ve told their stories countless times over the years, but who was documenting them? And where would their stories go once they were gone? Could I share them the same way? Of course not.

So, as filmmakers, I told my husband that I would have some serious regret if we didn’t take the time to go sit with them and let the cameras roll as they spoke. It was one of the best things I have ever done.

My papa’s health began to decline shortly after we sat with him, and he passed away a year later.

My nana has the tribute video on her desktop so she can hear his voice anytime.

It’s a priceless gift that will keep papa alive forever and will give the unique opportunity for generations to hear the stories straight from the source.
